Airport

The closest airport to Ella is Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (HRI), located approximately 85 kilometers away. However, Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo is the main international airport and is about 200 kilometers away. From either airport, you can hire a taxi or pre-booked private transfer to Ella. Alternatively, you can take a train or bus from Colombo to Ella, which is a more scenic but longer journey.
